Living Well with Julia – Pop-Up Healthy Living Dinner
Join us, Julia and Clive, for a very special evening designed to nourish your body, support your gut, and lift your spirit.
This is my very first Pop-Up Dinner, and I’m thrilled to be joined by my friend Clive—a true food enthusiast who brings warmth, fun, and energy to every table. I feel so grateful and fortunate to have Clive by my side for this event, sharing in the joy of creating and hosting such a meaningful evening together.
Together, we’ll be serving up a delicious three-course menu made with fresh, seasonal, mostly plant-based ingredients. Each dish is designed to support gut health—packed with fiber to encourage microbiome diversity, which helps strengthen your immune system. Plus, the ingredients are chosen to keep your mind sharp and improve memory as we age, so you can enjoy food that truly feeds your body and brain.
I am passionate cook, yoga teacher, holistic health coach, and food lover who believes that every meal should nourish the gut, fuel the body, and uplift the soul.
I grew up in Slovakia in a home where everything was cooked from scratch. My grandmother Julia lived on a large sustainable piece of land where what we grew, we ate. Fresh, seasonal, and simple food was at the heart of our family life. From a young age, I began experimenting in the kitchen — first with traditional Slovakian cuisine, and later, after moving to London, drawing inspiration both from Michelin-starred restaurants with their flavours and presentation, and from independent family-run places where food was slow-cooked, soulful, and shared with warmth.
That sense of conscious living and mindful eating became even more real for me after experiencing the slow-food culture on the island of Ikaria during a yoga & longevity retreat. It reminded me that food is not just about taste, but about connection, presence, and living well.
For me, food has never just been about eating — it’s about fueling our body, muscles, and mind with the right nutrients to thrive. Over the last decade, especially since moving to Bedford, I’ve embraced a largely plant-based lifestyle (about 90%), complemented by fatty fish and occasionally organic chicken. I love cooking from scratch: making fresh sauces, breads, plant-based milks, hummus, and even growing my own vegetables and herbs.
In 2022, I graduated as a Holistic Health Coach from CNM, which deepened my knowledge of nutrition, movement, gut health, and balanced eating. Alongside yoga, mindfulness, and stress management, I now help others understand how food can be our greatest tool to age well, support the gut, strengthen the immune system, and keep the mind sharp.
My passion for cooking has only grown stronger as I’ve learned how important fiber, protein balance, and fresh ingredients are, especially in plant-based meals.
That’s why I’m so excited to host my very first Pop-Up Dinner this November — to share with you the flavours, nourishment, and joy of food that has truly supported me on my own healing journey.

She has a wonderfully calm approach to life and I felt truly transformed after a day of meditating, moving my body and eating the most delicious food. I cannot wait to do another retreat with Julia, hopefully next time for longer. ❤

Julia is a wonderful yoga teacher, she’s very patient and spends time making sure everyone is comfortable and getting the most out of her classes. Her retreats are idyllic and include other activities alongside yoga to compliment and provide a lovely relaxing break from busy everyday life. I would recommend Julia to anyone looking for a friendly yoga retreat/class.
