We arrived at her home… and the bees’ home.
Melissavet, the honey lady—who’s worked with bees for over 30 years—welcomed us into her sacred world. 🐝🍯

She spoke of them not as creatures, but as kin.
With reverence. With knowing.
You could feel the devotion in the air—and in every jar.

We tasted seasonal honeys—from spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
Each one… completely different.
From Spring light and floral, summer bold and rich to deep flavour from autumn and, winter rare, raw, a little wild. 

We weren’t just tasting honey.
We were tasting time, place, weather, flower, and life.

Each drop: a memory. A miracle.

🌿 Raw honey is a healer—

Antimicrobial. Antioxidant. Gut-friendly.

But it also heals something deeper:
It reminds us of sweetness that isn’t rushed.
Of work done in harmony.
Of the divine feminine that builds, protects, and nourishes.

And as we stood there in that buzzing hum,
We realized—
It’s not the sting we fear… it’s the depth.

The intimacy. The beauty. The risk of truly feeling something.

But what if that’s where the gold is?

This was more than a tasting. It was a homecoming.

To nature. To each other. To ourselves.
To the queen within.

“A taste of longevity — the Ikarian way of lif “A taste of longevity — the Ikarian way of life 🇬🇷🌿”

Exactly last Monday, 
one of the most soul-nourishing moments from our retreat: a full day on the sun-drenched vineyards of Karimalis Winery, Ikaria — a place where time slows down and life is deeply, beautifully lived.

We gathered to cook, learn, and connect in a space of George and Eleni - a place created not just for meals, but for memories and meaning. ☺️

George opened our day with a talk on longevity — passionate, wise, and deeply rooted in the Ikarian way of life. He spoke of true wellbeing: purpose, presence, daily movement, and connection to the land and one another. His words reminded us that long life is not just about adding years, but about adding life to our years.

Then Eleni welcomed us into her beautifully designed and spacious kitchen where we experienced plant-based cooking as a ritual — an act of love. We cooked with fresh vegetables, wild and a lots of herbs, enjoyed a freshly made tea from all the herbs from their garden,  used a lots of olive oil, prepared pastry from scratch ( that was fun ) — everything fresh, local, seasonal, and prepared with joy.

But it was more than just a cooking class. It was a lesson in living.

The Ikarians don’t just eat differently — they live differently. 

They grow their own food, cook slowly, eat together, and move with rhythm and intention. 

There’s no rush. No obsession with trends. Just nourishment — for the body, heart, and soul.

It was one of those rare days that leaves an imprint — not just for what we learned, but how we felt. 

Connected. ✨ Inspired. ✨ Alive. ✨ And, Well-nourished. ✨

Here’s to the Ikarian way of life… and to living well at 100 and beyond. 💫
