Touch is love in its purest form.

After seeing my mum, I gave her a simple foot massage… and today I took her for a pedicure and reflexology session. Such small acts — yet so powerful.

Why don’t we “as women” treat ourselves for these sessions more often…? March is a great reminder 

There is something incredibly special about caring through touch. Our hands carry energy. When we massage the feet, hold someone’s hands, or gently place a palm on the body, or massage our bodies after bath , we’re not just touching skin — we’re calming the nervous system, softening stress, and creating a deep sense of safety.

Reflexology, yoga, massages… they’re not luxuries. They’re reminders.
Reminders to come back to ourselves.
To breathe.
To feel.
To reconnect.

In a world that moves so fast, healing can be as simple as a mindful touch.

Today I’m reminded that sometimes the greatest therapy isn’t expensive or complicated — its presence. 

It’s intention. 

It’s love flowing through our hands.

Hold your loved ones. Massage your mum’s feet. Book the session. Practice yoga.
Reconnect with your own unique body.

Because healing begins with touch. ✨

I’m spending precious time with my mum and reflecting on all the women I know — and those I’ve shared time with over the years, on the mat, outdoors, in nature…

May this month bring more joy, balance, and celebration of all women! 🌿

As we welcome March — spring, renewal, and a celebration of women — I want to start a new conversation: One that is foundational for women’s health: hormones and the nervous system.

Hormones aren’t just estrogen and progesterone. There is something even more influential: “the stress response.”

The HPA axis — your hypothalamus, pituitary, and adrenal glands — governs cortisol, the stress hormone.
Cortisol doesn’t only respond to stress. It also influences ovulation, progesterone, thyroid activity, blood sugar, and sleep.

When stress is chronic, the body shifts into protection mode.

Cycles can change.
Mood can fluctuate.
Energy can feel unpredictable.

Not because you’re failing — but because your body is prioritising survival.

The brain, ovaries, thyroid, and adrenals function as a delicate feedback loop.

When the stress response softens, hormonal communication improves.

Regulation supports that loop.

This March, ask yourself:

Where is stress creeping in without me noticing?
Where can I soften?
When can I take five minutes to breathe, reset, and signal safety to my body?
Small moments of regulation change physiology.

Throughout this month, we’ll continue exploring how nervous system regulation shapes women’s health & longevity.

Slowly. Consciously. Together. 👯‍♀️

Because it brings it back to you — to truly you, to aliveness, to practice, to embodiment.

Downward Facing Dog with Hands on a Chair

( a gentle inversion + supported strength )

What’s happening in the body & brain:

	•	The mild inversion encourages a blood return toward the head, which can support a feeling of mental freshness (without the intensity of full down dog). 

	•	Weight through the hands activates the upper body + shoulder girdle, improving circulation through the neck and upper spine—areas that often get compressed from screens and stress.

	•	Lengthening the spine reduces physical tension, which in turn down-regulates the nervous system (less fight-or-flight, more clarity).

	•	Slow, steady breathing in this pose improves oxygen exchange, supporting focus and calm awareness. 

Why it feels so good mentally:
	•	You’re supported, not straining → the brain reads this as safe

	•	Safety = parasympathetic activation = clearer thinking

	•	The head-below-heart orientation often brings a sense of reset, like shaking mental dust loose
