In May, I spent more time with my mum. 

And I was reminded of something simple, but profound:

Time with the people who have been part of our lives for a long time has a way of bringing things into focus.

There was care.
There was laughter.
There were stories I’ve heard many times before, and others I was hearing for the first time.

And underneath it all — appreciation.

For many of us, these connections look different. It might be a parent, a grandparent, a sibling, a close friend, or someone who has walked alongside us for years.

When we make space for these relationships — even in small, ordinary ways — something softens in us.

We feel more.
We slow down.
We remember what matters.

Not every moment needs to be big or planned. Often it’s the quiet ones that stay with us the longest — coffee shared, a walk, a conversation that doesn’t need to go anywhere.

This month reminded me how powerful that kind of presence can be.

❤️ Grateful for family.
❤️ Grateful for connection.
❤️ Grateful for time.

MAY - A MONTH OF CONNECTION ❤️. As I look back o MAY - A MONTH OF CONNECTION ❤️. 

As I look back on May, one word keeps coming to mind: CONNECTION. 

Not a month full of achievements or ticking things off a list, but a month full of experiences, conversations, memories and people.

From a Hiking & Yoga Retreat in Slovakia, to precious time supporting my mum and being with family, to celebrating 80th, 60th and 50th birthdays in the New Forest, and ending the month teaching Yoga in the Park and sharing coffee with our wonderful community.

These moments reminded me of something we often forget:

Connection isn’t just nice to have. It’s essential.

Research continues to show that meaningful relationships are one of the strongest predictors of longevity, healthy ageing and overall wellbeing. Genuine human connection supports our nervous system, strengthens resilience, and even helps shape neuroplasticity – our brain’s ability to adapt, grow and create new pathways throughout life.

Being present with friends.
Being present with family.
Being present in nature.
Being present with ourselves.

This is where life happens.

As May comes to a close, I’m feeling deeply grateful.

✨ Grateful for family.
✨ Grateful for friendship.
✨ Grateful for community.
✨ Grateful for time.

Ten days after returning from our Slovakian Hiking Ten days after returning from our Slovakian Hiking & Yoga Retreat, I’m still holding so much gratitude for this beautiful adventure and all the moments we shared together 🙏

From exploring the breathtaking High Tatras mountains, hiking through nature, breathing and moving collectively on the mat, to deeply restorative practices like Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra — this retreat became so much more. It was a space to reconnect, nourish ourselves, connection & elevate. 

Our home for the retreat, Edenium Chalet, truly felt like a home-from-home. Ivana & Michal looked after us so beautifully that everyone felt held, rejuvenated, safe and deeply cared for throughout the entire stay. Ivana, Michal, boils ste úplne superb! 🙏😘@retreatresidenceedenium 

We were incredibly nourished by the most exceptional food created by the wonderfully talented Slovak chef Milica @mili_fischer_ova — every meal made from scratch with fresh ingredients, blending traditional Slovak cuisine with creative vegan and vegetarian dishes made with so much love and care. Milica, you are truly exceptional chef! 🧑‍🍳 

Sharing these photos is a reminder of how powerful these positive shared experiences can be.

These moments help us slow down, gain perspective, build inner strength, return home carrying beautiful memories & renewed energy.
